Dr. Betty Headley has more than 30 years experience in clinical & health psychology, in areas of management and Academia (University lecturing, clinical training and supervision of post- graduate psychology students). Throughout this time, she has worked in clinical practice in both private and public sectors and has developed expertise in working with complex mental health problems in children & adults.
Dr. Betty Headley has been working at Biggera Waters Family Practice(BWFP) twice a week since 2010 and she accepts all of patients who have referral from their own GPs under GP Mental Care Plan. Patients can get up to 12 session's psychotherapy consultation per annum under Medicare Australia funding. She is kindly seeing all of these patients as bulk billing with no out of pocket expenses to the patients if they have a valid Medicare / DVA card with a referral letter from their own GP. She is also seeing those patients who are under QLD WorkCover Compensation and their case has been approved by QLD WorkCover.
Dr. Headley is providing assessment and intervention for patients who are suffering from trauma (Acute Stress Disorders & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders, Behavioural Disorders, and with the psychological impact of serious health & neurological disorders, with subsequent co-morbid medical conditions. Dr Headley also provides positive Parenting Training for children & teenagers.
Dr. Headley is academically active and she provides supervision for other psychologists for Professional Registration and APSColleges of Clinical & Health Psychologists in Australia.
